Fabi Prezja
President
Fabi, originally hailing from Greece, arrived in Finland for his master’s studies. Currently, he is pursuing his doctoral degree at the University of Jyväskylä, specializing in the field of medical deep learning. His work is marked by a variety of multidisciplinary collaborations extending beyond the medical domain. Beyond his research, Fabi has held several roles such as board member of ESN Jyväskylä, current member of the ESN International – NEC Committee, and leader of the AI Club at the University of Jyväskylä for three years. His recent selection as a DeepLearning.AI event ambassador provides a platform for offering exclusive Coursera and DeepLearning.AI benefits to FAIRN event participants.
Anssi Sorvisto
Vice President
Anssi is a Fin from the North Ostrobothnia region from the city of Ylivieska. Anssi studies at Jyväskylä University, where he currently works in a startuplab. He is one of the lab actives, hosting and planning various events for students, companies, or faculty along with research work, and occasional teaching. Topics of interest: AI-enabled decision-making, Data-driven business ecosystems, and disruptive technologies. Anssi is especially interested IT industry, and how technologies can enable people and better decision-making overall. Anssi is founding a startup company. Anssi has been active in local IT and student networks, hosting events and trying to spark up topic-driven discussions in meetups. Anssi is on an endless quest for knowledge.
Alena Karpenko
Communication Manager
Alena is originally from the northern city of Murmansk in Russia. Initially, she ventured to Finland for her bachelor studies at Lapland University of Applied Sciences in Tornio. Choosing to stay in the country after their completion, she now embarks on her master’s journey at the University of Jyväskylä within the System Science program, all while working as a quality assurance engineer. Alena’s curiosity gravitates towards AI technologies, as she actively explores opportunities to potentially launch an AI-driven startup. Amidst her academic and professional pursuits, Alena previously took on responsibilities as a tutor and played a role on the student board during her bachelor’s studies.
